Manos Nazlidis, originally from Piraeus, created the Chios Beer microbrewery in Kampos, on the island of Chios, in 2010. In 2012, he began producing and bottling Fresh Chios Beer, an innovative newcomer on the market. It is always bottled unfiltered and unpasteurised to retain all the flavour and character of a true beer. In September 2012, the beer ventured outside Chios to selected locations in the larger cities of Greece, and shortly thereafter, the blond House Ale's little brother, a dark Smoked Robust Porter, appeared on the scene.
FRESH CHIOS BEER, Ale
Fresh Chios Beer, a high-fermented ale, is brewed in Kampos, Chios, from selected malt varieties and whole hops. Unpasteurised, unfiltered and without preservatives, its flavour remains unaltered. It has a blond-yellow colour and full head. Hops and citrus aromas dominate.
SMOKED ROBUST PORTER (seasonal)
Carefully selected varieties of roasted and caramelised malts, combined with malt smoked with beech wood, give this black beer its intense character. Bottled unfiltered and unpasteurised in limited quantities. Each batch is unique.
Chios Beer Barbeque (Smoked Chios Beer)
A smoky beer with distinctive bitterness and intense aromas of wood, made of traditional roasted malt, naturally smoked with wood from oak tree, offering a special pleasure when it accompanies intense flavor dishes.
It is bottled unfiltered and unpasteurized in small unique batches.
